    Sundar Bharadwaj

    CEO & Co-Founder

    Sundar is a Business Leader with 28 years of global experience working at multinationals such as Vodafone Group, Accenture, Infosys, Afiniti and FirstWave Cloud. He has transformed technology-oriented companies into multi-million-dollar businesses, led customer operations units of over 6,000 people and managed complex commercial transactions, all while contributing to important causes related to mental health, youth development, food banks and river cleaning.

    He is passionate about creating a blueprint for an environmentally and socially regenerative business that will challenge the conventional belief that focusing on the planet could compromise shareholder returns. He believes that merely sustaining the current status quo or avoiding damage will no longer suffice. We must safeguard our planet for the future.

    As CEO of TERRAGRN, Sundar focuses on aligning the regenerative model with passionate and future-thinking business partnerships. He leads on fundraising whilst overseeing a growing and passionate team to ensure that TERRAGRN’s nature-based solutions deliver on their positive impacts including mitigating climate change and providing food security, employment and social and economic progress.

  • Roy Masamba

    Roy Masamba

    Co-Founder & Director

    Roy brings over 25 years of International Human Resource Leadership to TERRAGRN. Working as an effective transformation leader, he has a history of building strong HR functions at large companies such as Vodaphone Group, Airtel, and Naspers/Multichoice Group as well as with start-ups. He has specialised in consolidating teams from different regions and creating a culture and structure for them to work effectively together.

    Roy believes that new businesses need to be built with ideas and practices of ecological and structural sustainability embedded from start to have a substantial impact on the climate crisis.

    As a Director of TERRAGRN, Roy is instrumental in building the business by bringing people, the planet and prosperity together. He works to fosters a positive culture in the company which aligns with its planet-positive mission.

  • Krishnakumar Raman

    Krishnakumar Raman

    Co-Founder & Director

    Krishnakumar has 40 years of experience in leading capital-intensive projects and start-ups. Combining skills across the finance and engineering sectors, he worked at ICICI Limited (India) for over a decade. He was instrumental in setting up and operating a $750 million line of credit from IBRD (World Bank). Krishnakumar has also founded a publishing start-up and piloted an MBO with a successful exit and used his expertise in systems thinking and applying solutions on a large scale.

    Krishnakumar has spent the last five years extensively researching solutions for scalable bamboo production, and he has mobilised TERRAGRN’s expert team because he believes that we are only temporary custodians of our precious planet and that it is our duty to use whatever skills we have to preserve it for the future.

    As a Director of TERRAGRN, Krishnakumar oversees the bigger picture of implementing nature-based solutions for food and energy security and managing the milestones to achieve the agroforest. He hopes TERRAGRN will inspire a host of other ecologically focused projects to form a new generation of agri-entrepreneurs.

    Sharul Jain

    Chief Financial Officer

    Sharul has held several leadership roles in multi-billion dollar organisations with a full mix of M&A, business finance, corporate treasury, FP&A, managing board meetings, ERM and process excellence. He brings a wide array of experience through senior management positions in leading companies across consumer goods, infrastructure engineering, real estate, BPO & the information technology industry. For the last few years, Sharul has been running his own boutique finance organisation which works across industry segments to extend world class professional services.

    A Chartered Accountant by profession, Sharul and was awarded the ‘All India Merit Rank’. He also holds an MBA and an Advance Diploma in Computer Science.

    Sharul enjoys reading and enthusiastically follows cricket. He is inspired by the TERRAGRN ambition and keen to support the growth of the business.

    Matt Durnin

    Chief Scientist

    A former Trustee & Executive Committee Member of JGI Global & Board Chair for the Jane Goodall Institute China, Matt is a reviewer & assurance provider to the Global Standards & Assurance Processes for the IUCN Green List of Protected Areas (GLPA). Previously he led The Nature Conservancy’s science programmes in Asia Pacific (APCR). He managed and supported regional conservation initiatives, creating business plans, conservation action planning and measuring success as well as developing new tools, methods and techniques to improve conservation.

    Since 1993, Matt has focused on wildlife, conservation and environmental issues. He was a MacArthur Foundation postdoctoral fellow at the California Academy of Sciences and lead mammalogist on a project cataloging the biodiversity of the Gaoligongshan area in China’s western Yunnan Province.

    From 1998 to 2001, he conducted his Ph.D. research on the wild giant pandas of the Wolong Nature Reserve in Sichuan Province, completing his Ph.D. in wildlife ecology at the University of California Berkeley in 2005 with a focus on animal population genetics.

    Current research and work interests explore the interconnections between food, water & energy systems and how technology, urban planning & design, vertical farming & renewable energy can ensure food, water and energy security for the growing population while reducing negative impacts to healthy natural ecosystems.

    Chief Technology & Information Officer

    Andrew is an experienced technology leader with a proven ability to advise on, lead and manage significant technology investment in the fast-moving worlds of enterprise software, global media & telecoms. He has a blend of technology engineering, blue-chip consulting, corporate line management, and early-stage incubation experience. With a strong commercial orientation and a focus on delivering business benefits from new technologies, Andrew professionalises technology functions, enables industry digitization and improves the speed of benefits delivery from leading-edge technology. With a background at IBM, Accenture, and in corporate CIO roles Andrew has significant international experience, including chairing the growth and exit of technology ventures and working with venture investors and private equity groups.

    In his role as CIO & CTO at Terragrn Andrew is excited to be delivering an innovative technology blueprint for a sustainable agroforestry business positioned for global scale.

    Vicky is an experienced Marketing & Innovations Director with a proven track record of 25 years working across a range of industries including consumer, retail, media and communications. Having worked at multinationals and start-ups including Alfred Dunhill, Accenture, Homechoice and Better All Round, she now focuses on building brands and creating innovative products which make a difference in today's challenging world. Vicky successfully built a medical consumer business from scratch in 2005, selling the business to a US healthcare company in 2012; she lead the marketing activities for Nelson Mandela’s 46664 concerts in South Africa and for his 90th birthday in London; and gained Better All Round BCorp status by implementing sustainable innovations and structures.

    Vicky believes that now, more than ever, with consumption exceeding the rate at which the planet is able to regenerate, nothing could be more important than businesses and people directing their attention to protecting our future.

    As Chief Marketing & Communications Officer, Vicky is growing international awareness of TERRAGRN and its mission by applying her skills in entrepreneurship, management, marketing and digital marketing strategies. She will be instrumental in promoting the blueprint for ecologically and socially sustainable agroforests and turning our model into a global movement.

    Mandla Ndlovu

    Country Lead, South Africa

    Mandla is a senior executive with over 25 years of leadership experience in multiple industries across the UK, Netherlands, Kenya and South Africa. He is skilled in strategic planning, business development, organisational design and change management, having worked for Unilever, Mondelez, Monsanto and Celtel Africa.

    Mandla strongly believes that, in Africa, building a business around sustainability is not a choice but a necessity. Already, the effects of climate change are impacting food security and energy prices, putting people further in poverty. Now is the time to act.

    Working as the South African Country Lead, Mandla oversees the on-site management of the agroforest and uses his local knowledge and broad skillset to integrate nature-based solutions into local communities, improving their well-being, economies and quality of life.

  • Anne-Marie Solari Bozzi-Altenburg

    Anne-Marie Solari Bozzi-Altenburg

    General Counsel

    Anne-Marie has been practising law for over 25 years. Since completing the Bar of Zurich in 1996, she has worked with several law firms and is now associated with Rickenbach & Partner, a Swiss law firm specialising in domestic and international business law and advising corporate and private clients. Over her career, Anne-Marie has applied her strong strategic, management and networking skills to projects that promote the well-being of children and young people as a Board Member of the Swiss Foundation. She speaks fluent English, German, Swiss German, Italian, and French.

    Anne-Marie believes that developing a roadmap to sustainability is the only way for businesses to stay competitive in the long run and is passionate about being socially and environmentally responsible.

    As Chief Legal Counsel, Anne-Marie oversees TERRAGRN’s corporate governance and leads the setup of internal policies. She ensures that TERRAGRN is aligned with legal and regulatory frameworks in the African countries it serves, working closely with partner law firms in these regions.

Technical Expertise

TERRAGRN’s ever-growing technical team are responsible for implementing our Nature-based Solutions (NbS).

We have extensive experience in soil regeneration, permaculture and regenerative faming as well as biodiversity.  Importantly, we have bamboo farming expertise and forestry operations and logistics.

In addition, we have a team who engage with the local communities, ensuring they are informed about TERRAGRN’s mission and developments as well as highlighting job opportunities in our pilot.
